Spotty Dog Story
The first person I heard say “Spotty Dog” was my Dad, I assumed it was part of normal adult conversation. As I grew up, I realised it wasn’t so common.
Me and my cousin liked the way it sounded and it quickly became something we’d use all the time, especially in reference to skating.
It means good or sound:
- Let’s meet for a skate today – yea Spotty Dog!
- If your mate lands a trick – Spotty Dog!
- When Tino Asprilla scored a hat-trick for Newcastle United against Barcelona back in 1997, that was Spotty Dog!
You can throw it in at the end of your sentence to mean everything’s good.
It wasn’t intended to be a “catch phrase” or become a t-shirt. It was just a natural way for me to end each video as a nod to my Dad, who I have so much to thank for, and the amazing times I’ve had skating with my cousin.
It puts a huge smile on my face thinking there are people skating about in t-shirts inspired by my Dad.
